It has been a tough season for the Lyon County Lyons on the soccer field this season. The struggles continued Tuesday evening as they were upended by Webster County 7-3 at Lee S. Jones Park.
Webster County got out of the gate quickly. The Trojans bolted out to a 6-1 halftime lead. The Lyon County goal in the first half was scored by Travis Crayne.
The Lyons played much better in the second half, outscoring the Trojans 2-1 over the final 40 minutes. Lyon County got goals from Jacob Mayberry and Trace Adams.
The loss, which was Lyon County’s 12th in a row, drops the Lyons to 1-15-1 on the season. They return to action Thursday at Russellville.
