With the final week of the volleyball regular season coming up next week, the Caldwell County Lady Tigers look to be ready to try and make a deep postseason run. The Lady Tigers were impressive on their home court Thursday night, defeating Hopkinsville in straight sets. The win was the second sweep for Caldwell over Hopkinsville in the past week.
The match began like it would be a long, tough night. Tied at 8-8, Caldwell County then went on an 11-5 run to go up 19-13. Caldwell County would then finish the set on a 6-2 run to close out the 25-15 win and go up 1-0 in the match.
In the second set, Caldwell County jumped out quickly to a 7-1 lead and never looked back. They would go on to win the set 25-16 and take a two sets to none lead in the match.
The third set looked early like it would be more of the same, as Caldwell County got out to an early 9-2 lead. Hopkinsville battled back behind the play of Karalyn Beymer and Sara Cavanah to get within a couple of points. However, Caldwell County was able to hold Hopkinsville at arms length and went on to take the 3rd set 25-20 to close out the match.
