Coming off a tough three set loss to Christian County last week in a key district matchup, the UHA Lady Blazers were in need of a win to get things back on track. They got that in big fashion Monday evening cruising by Fort Campbell in straight sets.

The two teams were in a tight battle during the first set. UHA was leading by just two at 13-11, when the Lady Blazers went on a 12-0 run to close out the set at 25-11. Beth Peebles came up big for UHA during the run with five service aces. Meghan Adams also had a big first set for UHA with six kills in the set.

The second set was all UHA. The Lady Blazers jumped out to a 5-1 lead. Then, leading 17-6, UHA closed out the set on an 8-0 run to win 25-6 and go up two sets to none.

Fort Campbell made a big push in the third set to attempt a rally, but the Lady Falcons could not quite get over the hump. Fort Campbell was leading in the set 10-8, when UHA went on a 5-0 run to go up 13-8, taking a lead they would not give up, on the way to winning the set 25-17, and closing out the sweep in the match. The Lady Falcons got solid play in the set from Diamond Jenkins and Faith Kaauamo.

For the match, UHA was led by Beth Peebles who had 8 aces for the match, while Averie Turner added 4. Junior Meghan Adams had 7 kills, while Lilly Hendricks and Katie Beth Stevens had 3 each.

UHA improves to 15-6 and 5-1 in the district, while Fort Campbell falls to 4-15 and 0-5 in the district. UHA clinches at least a tie for the regular season district title. Christian County is 3-1, with matches left against Hopkinsville and Fort Campbell.
