The Murray State soccer team is back in Ohio Valley Conference action this week as they head to Illinois to face off against Eastern Illinois and SIUE this weekend.

The Racers (5-1-1) head into the two-game weekend with a conference win under their belt.  Murray State defeated Southeast Missouri in a 4-1 victory in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, to jump out to a 1-0 start in league play.

Miyah Watford and Abby Jones have continued to lead the MSU offense as both recorded scores against the Redhawks last Thursday. With the scores, Watford added to her season total of seven goals while Jones has netted three since her Murray State debut. Jones also contributed an assist during the contest that improved her season assist total to six.

First-year head coach Matt Lodge not only earned his first conference win of the season at Southeast Missouri, but he also secured his first career win at SEMO, which is a feat he had never achieved in his four seasons serving as an assistant for Murray State.
