The Caldwell County Tigers moved to 2-2 on the season with a 32-20 win over Crittenden County Friday night in Princeton.  The victory is the Tigers’ tenth-straight over the Rockets, who drop their first game of the season and stand at 2-1.

After a Crittenden field goal opened the scoring, Caldwell got on the board with a touchdown pass from Joby Jaggers to Jameer Riley.  Caldwell’s extra-point attempt was no good, and the Rockets came right back with a scoring pass of their own from Hunter Boone to Preston Turley.  With the extra point, Crittenden took a 10-6 lead into the locker room at halftime.

The Tigers took control of the game by scoring on their first three possessions of the second half, beginning with a touchdown pass from Jaggers to Travis Newsom.  The Rockets blocked the extra-point attempt and trailed 12-10.

Crittenden answered with another field goal for its last lead of the game at 13-12, before Caldwell closed the third quarter with a 66-yard scoring completion from Jaggers to Riley.  A two-point conversion was unsuccessful, but the Tigers came right back on their next possession with Jaggers and Riley connecting for their third touchdown of the game, a 78-yard strike to take control of the game at 26-13.  Jaggers hooked up with Russ Beshear for the two-point conversion.

With 2:00 left to play, Caldwell put its final points on the board on a touchdown run by DeEric Hollowell, but once again the extra point was blocked.  On their final possession, the Rockets tacked on a touchdown on a pass from Boone to Ethan Dossett for the final 32-20 score.

Hollowell went over 100 yards on the ground for Caldwell, racking up 109 yards on 15 carries.  Jaggers finished 21-28 for 266 yards and 4 touchdowns.  Riley led the way with 151 yards receiving and 3 touchdowns.

Caldwell County now leads the all-time series with their border rivals 41-10 and have won nine straight games against the Rockets and 13 of the last 14.

Up next for the Tigers is a home match-up with Henderson County next Friday.  The Colonels will enter the game at 3-1 after a 23-0 win over Gibson Southern (Fort Branch) IN.
