The Hopkinsville volleyball team picked up its second win of the season over Fort Campbell with a 3-0 victory in Tiger Gym on Wednesday night. The Lady Tigers now stand at 2-7 on the year with a big 8th District meeting with Christian County on Thursday. The Lady Falcons had won two of three, but the loss drops them to 2-9 overall. Fort Campbell will be on the road again on Thursday for a match-up with Madisonville-North Hopkins.
In the first set, Fort Campbell jumped out to a 7-5 lead, but the Lady Tigers stormed back for a 15-7 advantage and went on to win 25-11. Hoptown took control of the second set with a 6-1 start, before stretching the margin to 20-8. The Lady Falcons fought back to 22-13, bet fell 25-16 to go down 2-0. In the final set, Hopkinsville built a 17-7 lead on the way to a decisive 25-11 victory.
For the Lady Tigers, Sarah Cavanah had 13 assists, 6 kills, 2 aces and a block. Hope Pace was busy as well, recording 5 kills, 3 aces, 2 blocks and an assist. Savannah Peck had 10 assists and 5 aces, Karalyn Beymer had 8 kills, Shelby Isenhoff had 3 kills and Alyssa Bearns had 2. Hailey Hallmark notched 3 blocks, Kelsey Mata had 3 aces and a kill, and Chandler Adams had 2 kills and an ace.
