Other than a lull at the end of the first set, the Heritage Christian Academy Lady Warriors were on a big roll Tuesday night. The Lady Warriors cruised through the second, third, and fourth sets, on their way to a 3-1 match win over Clarksville Academy.
The match opened like the Lady Warriors were going to have their way enroute to a sweep. Heritage Christian jumped out to an 18 to 11 lead in the opening set, only to see Clarksville Academy come storming back. Clarksville Academy finished the opening set on a 15-6 run to take the opener by the score of 26 to 24.
Clarksville Academy continued to battle in the early part of the second set. After HCA jumped out to a 9 to 3 lead, Clarksville Academy came back to tie the set at 9 to 9. But, from that point on, the entire match turned in favor of the Heritage Christian Academy Lady Warriors.
The Lady Warriors finished the second set on a 16 to 7 run to win the set 25 to 16.
In the third set, Heritage Christian opened on a 5-2 spurt and never looked back, as they rolled to the win by a score of 25 to 13. In the 3rd set, the Lady Warriors got spectacular play from senior Skyler Crisp, who began to attack at the net, and had three kills in the set. Freshman Cami Nelson added a pair of kills.
In the fourth set, it was more of the same. Heritage Christian jumped out to a 10-4 lead and then went on to take the fourth and final set by a score of 25 to 15, to claim the match 3-1. Crisp, Nelson, Merdith Crunk, and Grace Schluckebier, all had big 4th sets for the Lady Warriors.
