Hopkinsville got out to a quick lead against Greenwood Thursday, but had to go against both the Gators and the weather the rest of the way in a contest that was called due to lightning.
Zach Moore scored on a free kick four minutes into the contest to give the Tigers a quick 1-0 lead. The game was suspended at the eight-minute mark due to lightning in the Bowling Green area. When it was determined the weather wasn’t going to allow the teams to continue, the match was canceled. It was rescheduled for Oct. 6 in Bowling Green.
Hopkisnville (4-1) will make a return trip to Bowling Green Tuesday to play South Warren.
