Two nights after suffering a shutout loss to St. Mary, Caldwell County came close to picking up their first soccer win of the 2018 season Thursday. However, a Fort Campbell goal in the 51st minute tied the game which is how it ended – a 1-1 tie.
The tie for Caldwell is their first since a 1-1 tie against Tilghman last year, while Fort Campbell also had a tie last year.
Blake Vivrette took a pass from Collin Shaffer and scored in the 23rd minute for a 1-0 lead that stood up at halftime.
Fort Campbell tied the match when Jhony Paniagua-Solis scored in the 51st minute unassisted.
Both defenses took over for the final 29 minutes for the final 1-1 tie.
Fort Campbell (1-5-1) will travel to Apollo Saturday, while Caldwell County (0-5-1) has a week off until next Thursday’s match at Calloway County.
