Caldwell County and Henderson County are tied atop the Second Region in the latest Second Region Volleyball Rankings Released by the state coaches’ association.

The Lady Tigers are 7-2 with losses to South Warren and No. 24 Louisville Holy Cross. They also own a win over No. 14 Presentation.

Henderson County (7-5) has battled the injury bug early in the season and dropped matches to No. 22 Apollo twice and to University Heights. They did win all three of their matches over the weekend at the Best of the West in Owensboro.

University Heights (10-2) and Hopkinsville (1-4) are tied for third in the region. The rankings were released the day of their Eighth District showdown, which UHA won in straight sets.

Crittenden County (9-1), who finished runner-up to UHA in the Second Region All-A Classic, is ranked fifth. The Lady Rockets, who won 10 games in their previous four seasons, are on track for their first winning season since 2011.

No teams from the Second Region were ranked in the statewide top 25, which to no one’s surprise is dominated by teams in the Golden Triangle of the state.
