
After a tough start to the season, the Christian County Lady Colonels volleyball team is now on a bit of a roll. The Lady Colonels picked up their third win in a row Tuesday evening, dispatching the Hopkins Central Lady Storm in straight sets, 25-23, 27-25, and 25-16.
During their currentl three match winning streak, the Lady Colonels have won six sets in a row.
Tuesday night, Christian County and Hopkins Central went toe-to-toe in the first set. The Lady Storm led 15-12, and then extended the lead to 19-13, and appeared to be in control of the first set. However, the Lady Colonels outscored the Lady Storm 10-3 to take a 23-22 lead and then managed to hold on for the 25-23 win.
In the second set, the two teams battled back and forth, with Christian County getting enough late in the set to edge out the Lady Storm 27-25. For the second set in a row, the Lady Colonels found a way to come from behind late in the set to take the win.
In the final set, Christian County used a five point run and a 4 point run to take control of the match and then cruised to a 25-16 set win to wrap up the sweep.
Christian County improves to 3-6 on the season. The Lady Colonels return to action Friday at the Bluegrass Invitational Tournament.
