Caldwell County Impressive in Split During Louisville Trip

The Caldwell County Lady Tigers volleyball team may have sent a message to the 2nd Region with their trip to Louisville over the weekend. The Lady Tigers came away with a split on their one day visit to “the Ville” Saturday, falling to Holy Cross in four tough sets, and then upsetting Presentation in four “epic” sets in the second match of the day.

In the opener, the Lady Tigers battled through a long tough first set, before falling to Holy Cross 30-28. Holy Cross then seemed to take control of the match, winning the second set 25-15. However, Caldwell County battled back to take the 3rd set 25-23 and extend the match. The Lady Cougars then came roaring back to take the match by winning the 4th set 25-14. The second match of the trip found the Lady Tigers taking on Presentation, who entered the weekend ranked in the Top 20. Presentation looked the part of a Top 20 team in the opening set, taking a 25-14 win. Then, the match turned in the favor of the Caldwell County Lady Tigers. In the second, Caldwell County returned the favor, winning 25-14 to even things up at 1-1. The 3rd and 4th sets turned out to be long, “epic” battles.

The Lady Tigers outlasted the Lady Toppers 31-29 in the 3rd set. Caldwell County then closed out the upset win by beating Presentation 28-26 in the 4th set to take the match 3-1. Some of the stats include:
