The Heritage Christian Academy soccer team ended 2017 with a 5-0 loss to Trinity in the first round of the KCAA State Tournament, finishing the year at 7-12-1.  The Warriors finished under .500 for the second-straight year after three-straight years of winning seasons.

Three seniors graduated, including goalkeeper Kameron Cunningham and Clay Bonner.  Bonner scored 15 goals last season, the seventh-best total in program history.  Junior Thomas West leads a strong group of returnees after netting a program-record 28 goals last season.  Also back are returning senior starters Lawson Ashby, Lucas Hite, Kayley Wadlington and defender Cole Stevens.

Mauri Jenkins, Katie Herrell, Mia Kessler and Shaylea Turner return to the team after not playing last season, with junior midfielder Mati Venable a newcomer to the Warriors that Coach Tony Henson expects to have a big impact.  Henson also plans to count on some freshmen, with Trenton Hayes, Kris Ruth and goalkeeper Andrew Gentry expected to contribute.

The Warriors get their regular season started on August 18 when they travel to Indiana to take part in the River Cities Soccer Tournament.
