To say the Louisville Lady Sluggers 14U-Zuege team and a Christian County Lady Colonel who is playing on the team had a good weekend might be a bit of an understatement. The Lady Sluggers won the Buckeye Recruitfest, shutting out their last three opponents of the event in the bracket portion of the event.
The Lady Sluggers began the tourney picking up a 4-0 win over the Pittsburg Lady Bulldogs. The Lady Sluggers followed up their opening win with an 8-3 win over Legacy Power. They finished out pool play Saturday morning with a 6-2 win over OFC Heat Black.
The Lady Sluggers then began their blitz through the bracket play Sunday morning with a 1-0 win over Diamond Express Mizuno. They followed that up with a 6-0 rout of Pittsburg Spirit Gold. In the championship game of the event, the Lady Sluggers steamrolled their way past the West Virginia Dusters 8-0.
Christian County’s Tenley Gilbert is playing with the Lady Sluggers 14U-Zuege team this summer.
