Eddyville American Legion Post 68 split a doubleheader at South Fulton, Tenn. Tuesday, staying two games above .500 on the season.
The Aces fell behind 5-0 to South Fulton before scoring three times in the seventh inning. Jase Ryan Felker and Cameron Head both had one out singles. Conner Guthrie scored Felker on a single to left field, and Cameron Dean drove a run with a double. Guthrie scored on a wild pitch, but a strike out ended the scoring threat and the game.
Dean had three hits, including two doubles, while Noah Brown also had a double.
In the nightcap, Post 68 rallied with a six-run seventh inning to stun South Fulton 9-4 and salvage a doubleheader split.
Trailing 4-3 entering the final inning, the Aces took the lead on a Conner Guthrie single aided by a fielding error that allowed two runs to score. Guthrie later scored on a wild pitch. Cameron Dean punched a two-run double to left field, and Talon Cockrel squeeze play scored the final run of the inning.
Post 68 only had seven hits in the game and were aided by 11 walks.
Jase Ryan Felker picked up the pitching win with 2.1 hitless innings with a pair of strikeouts.
Post 68 (8-6) will host a pair of games Saturday, playing South Fulton at 2:30 and American Legion Post 39 of Oldham County at 5:00. The Aces will also host Post 39 again Sunday.
