A tough day Tuesday for three members of the Caldwell County Lady Tigers and their summer softball team. The Louisville Lady Sluggers Premiere-JB dropped a pair of games at a tournament in Colorado.
In their opening game of the day, the Lady Sluggers fell 9-1 to Diamond Sports Hotshots Dumezich 16U.
For the Lady Sluggers, Mashea Glover was 0-2 in the contest. Emma Staples was 1-1 with a run scored. Katie Franklin ended up 0-1 at the plate. Franklin also went 2 1/3 innings in the circle, giving up seven runs, only two of them earned, on three hits.
In their second game of the day Tuesday, the Lady Sluggers fell behind early and never recovered as they fell to the Monarchs 16U Gold 13-4.
Mashea Glover went 0-1 with a walk and a run scored. Emma Staples was 1-2 in the game with a double and an RBI. Katie Franklin was 0-1 at the plate in the game.
Franklin went two innings in the circle, giving up five runs, only one of them earned, on five hits and walked one.
