A couple of tough losses Friday for the Louisville Lady Sluggers Premier-JB. However, three Caldwell County Lady Tigers had solid efforts in the two losses.
In the opening game Friday, a late rally for the Sluggers came up just short as they fell to Elite Mississippi Elite ’01 16U by the score of 6-5. The Sluggers entered the final inning trailing 6-3 but could not quite get all the way back.
In the game, Mashea Glover was 2-3, with 2 doubles and a run scored. Katie Franklin was 1-3, with a run scored. And, Emma Staples went 1-3 with a run scored and an RBI.
In the circle, Katie Franklin went three innings, giving up one run on three hits.
In the second game Friday evening, the Lady Sluggers fell behind 8-2 early, but again rallied before falling 8-6 to the St. Louis Chaos-Mohan 16U in a five inning game.
Mashea Glover was 1-2 with a run scored. Katie Franklin went 1-2 with an RBI. And, Emma Staples was 1-2, with a double and two RBIs.
In the circle, Katie Franklin gave up six runs, on only three hits, striking out four while walking two.
Lyon County’s Sidney Melton walked and scored a run for the Chaos.
