University Heights Academy’s Alli Cundiff was named the Second Region Female Athlete of the Year based on voting conducted by the region’s athletic directors. Cundiff was recognized at Wednesday’s baseball region semifinals.
Cundiff was All-Region in soccer and was named All-State honorable mention after scoring 20 goals and assisting on nine others in addition to being one of the team’s top spot up defenders.
Earlier in the month, Cundiff closed out her high school athletic career by winning the 300-meter hurdles at the Class 1A State Meet, becoming the first Lady Blazer athlete to win an individual event at the state meet. She also had a second-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles and third place finishes in the 100-meter dash and 1600-meter relay.
Cundiff will attend Rhodes College in Memphis in the fall where she will play soccer and run track.
