A tough loss for the Lyon County Lyons, as they went on the road and fell 3-2 in eight innings to Calloway County Friday night. The Lakers scored on a walkoff base hit to left field to end the game.
Calloway County had to rally to even get to that position, as they trailed 2-0 going into the bottom of the 6th inning. The Lakers scored a run in the 6th and a game tying run in the 7th to set up the extra inning dramatics. Calloway County was down to their final out of the game in the bottom of the 7th when they came up with the RBI single to force extra innings.
Up until the 6th, Lyons pitching had limited the Lakers to only three hits, two of those coming in the first inning.
Lyon County took the lead when Dylan Capello hit an RBI single to right to put the Lyons up 1-0. They added another run in the top of the 5th on a single by Keaton Bridges.
Lyon County was led by Keaton Bridges, who went 2-4 with an RBI. Dylan Capello was 1-2 with an RBI.
