Trigg County’s Hannah Colbert allowed a single hit over seven innings to help the Lady Wildcats to a 4-0 win over Muhlenberg County on Friday night. Trigg has won four straight and five of six to improve to 19-10 on the year, with the Lady Mustangs dropping five of six to slip to 5-9.
The Lady Wildcats broke-through with 2 runs in the third on an error and a sacrifice bunt by Kara Southwood. In the bottom of the fifth, Colbert helped herself with an RBI single, followed by another run off an error in the sixth for the final 4-0 score.
Colbert struck-out thirteen and only issued one walk on the way to the complete-game shutout, while also collecting two hits and an RBI. Southwood had an RBI, with Madison Simpson, Adri Phillips, and Abby Terrell each getting a hit.
Emma Rose took the loss for the Lady Mustangs, going 5.0 innings while surrendering 3 runs, 2 earned, on four hits with a couple of strikeouts and two walks.
The Lady Wildcats go on the road to Morganfield on Saturday for a match-up with 8-16 Union County.
