The Todd County Central softball team fell victim to a walk-off RBI double in its 10-9 loss to hosts Bowling Green Thursday night. The Lady Rebels have lost three of four to drop to 7-9 on the year, while the Lady Purples move to 6-11.
The Lady Rebels put up 2 runs in each of the first, third and fourth innings to take a 6-5 lead into the fifth. Bowling Green would add 3 in its half of the fifth to regain the lead, before Todd County answered with 3 of its own to lead again at 9-8. The Lady Purples pushed a run across in the sixth to once again tie the game, and after the Lady Rebels went quietly in the top of the seventh, a walk-off RBI double by Gia Martin won the game for Bowling Green.
Haylee Vass took the loss for Todd County, while Savannah Jones earned the win for Bowling Green. Addye Sawyers and Emma Harris each had three hits for the Lady Rebels, followed by Whitney Higgins with two hits and 3 RBI. Jordon Weathers collected two hits, Michaela Robertson had an RBI double, Rachel Bilyeu had a hit and a run driven-in, and Samantha Case hit safely once and drove-in 2.
Kassidy Mason had three hits and 3 RBI for Bowling Green, and Martin two singles and a double with 2 driven-in.
Todd County will be back on the field on Friday when McLean County (2-12) makes the trip to Elkton.
