The Caldwell County Lady Tigers began the next to last week of the regular season with an impressive win. The Lady Tigers scored seven runs in the bottom of the first inning and cruised to a 13-2 five inning win over McLean County.
In the bottom of the first, Caldwell County did all of the damage after there were two outs. The big hits in the inning were a two run triple from J’Aimee Burk and an RBI double from Haley Stiles.
The Lady Tigers added a run in the bottom of the 2nd inning. Mashea Glover led off the inning with a triple and then scored on a sacrifice fly to extend the Caldwell County lead to 8-0.
Caldwell County added three more runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning. The big hit came off the bat of Mashea Glover, who blasted a two run homer to centerfield.
After McLean County scored a couple of runs in the top of the 5th inning to make it 11-2, the Lady Tigers closed the game out in the bottom of the inning. The game ended when Mashea Glover blasted a two run double to left field to score Haley Stiles and Emma Staples.
For the night, Mashea Glover was 4-4, with a home run, a triple, and four RBIs. J’Aimee Burk was 1-3 with 2 RBIs.
