Hopkinsville out together one of their best softball games of the season in a 16-1 win at Dawson Springs Saturday.

The Lady Tigers hammered out 16 hits and played errorless ball in picking up their fifth win of the year. Helping matters out were four crooked numbers the Lady Tigers put up in four of the five innings.

Seven different Lady Tigers had hits in the game, led by Nadia Clayton’s double, two triples, and three RBIs. Taiya Straight also had four hits and drove in four runs for Hoptown.

Shelby Harbour, Morgan Hodge, and Makenzie Carter each had two hits.

Lauren Hodge got the complete game win, allowing just four hits and one earned run while striking out two.

Later in the day, the Lady Tigers gave up a six-run fifth inning in a 10-5 loss to Owensboro.

Shaniya Straight doubled as part of a two-hit day and drove in a pair of runs. Morgan Hodge and Makenzie Carter each had two hits as the bottom three in the lineup went 6-for-9 for the Lady Tigers.

Hopkinsville (5-15) will host UHA Monday in an Eighth District contest.
