The Todd County Central baseball team fell 9-1 to visiting Edmonson County on Thursday. The loss is the Rebels’ third-straight and drops them to 1-8 overall. Edmonson County has won three of four to improve to 7-6 on the year.
After the Wildcats opened the scoring in the top of the first, the Rebels tied the game on an RBI single by sophomore Dylan Hurt. Neither team would score again until the fifth, when Edmonson County blew the game open with 5 runs. The Wildcats added 3 more runs in the top of the sixth, establishing the final 9-1 score.
Sophomore Bryce Nolan took the loss for Todd County, lasting 4.1 innings and allowing 6 runs, 3 earned, on five hits with four strikeouts and three walks. Hurt was the only Rebel with 2 hits, also driving in their only run. Junior Pedro Gonzalez, 8th grader Tanner Farmer, freshman Ethan Bicksler, and senior Trevor Henderson each had a hit.
Sophomore Nick Clemmons earned the win for Edmonson County, pitching 4.0 innings, scattering six hits and allowing an unearned run. Junior Preston Dunn and sophomore Gabe Lindsey led the attack with 3 RBI each.
On Friday, the Rebels go on the road to face the 0-5 Caverna Colonels.
