Hopkinsville scored in every inning and held Fort Campbell without a hit in their 17-6 district softball win on post Wednesday. The win keeps the Lady Tigers in second place in the Eighth District race.

Morgan Hodge’s three-run triple highlighted a seven-run first inning for the Lady Tigers that also included RBI singles by Nadia Clayton and Taiya Straight.

Fort Campbell took advantage of some Hopkinsville wildness to score four runs in their half of the first inning thanks to five hit batters and two walks.

In the second, Shelby Harbour tripled and scored on a Clayton single as the Lady Tigers went up 11-4.

Marley Hancock doubled in Sebrina Hodge in the third inning and then scored on a Harbour single.

Clayton finished with three hits and two RBIs, while Morgan Hodge drove in four runs from two hits. Harbour and Taiya Straight also finished with two hits for the Lady Tigers.

Fort Campbell was held without a hit for the second straight game, but Emily Garibay walked twice and scored two runs. Zoe Loveall and Emma Kaack also walked and scored for the Lady Falcons.

Hancock picked up the win, striking out eight in five innings.

Hopkinsville (4-7) visits Todd County Central Thursday.

Fort Campbell (1-14) will travel to Russellville Thursday and join Hopkinsville Friday at the Trigg County Lady Wildcat Invitational
