Union County scored 17 runs in the final four innings to stun Christian County 17-12 Monday at Colonel Field.  Christian County led 6-1 after three innings before Union piled on the runs in the final innings.

Christian County took advantage of shoddy Union defense in the first three innings to build their lead. Austin Fields had a two-run single in the third followed by an RBI double from Eric Silvy.

Union scored six runs in the fourth inning, highlighted by a three-run homer by Bennan Jenkins over the left field fence.

Payton George had a two-run single for Christian County in the fourth inning to build their lead to 10-6.

Union drew to within 10-9 in the fifth inning on a hit, three walks, and a hit batter.

RBI singles by Davis Corbett, Josh Girten, and Riley Jones gave Union their first lead at 13-10 in the sixth inning.
Union scored four times in the seventh inning to seal the win.

Fields had two hits and two RBIs for the Colonels, while George had three RBIs, and Cameron Crider had a pair of sacrifice RBIs.

Coy Burns had three hits for Union County (6-5).

Christian County was plagued by seven walks and five unearned runs in the contest. The 17 runs allowed were the most to a Second Region opponent since an 16-1 loss to Henderson County in 2012.

The Colonels (5-7) will host Ohio County Thursday in the Town and County Classic at Colonel Field.
