The Hopkinsville Tigers dropped their second preseason scrimmage Thursday night. Owensboro Catholic got to Tiger pitching for four run in the first inning and then cruised to an 11-6 win.
The Aces scored in every inning but the 4th, as they connected for ten hits in the ballgame. Hopkinsville got a run in the bottom of the first, and another in the bottom of the 4th inning. In their final at bat, the Tigers got to Aces pitching for four runs.
Hopkinsville scored their six runs on a total of six hits over the seven innings.
John Duvall went 2 for 3 for Hopkinsville, with a double. Logan Durst was 1 for 1, with 2 RBIs and a walk.
On the mound, Robert Justus went two innings, gave up five runs on five hits, struck out four and walked three. Zach Caudill also went two innings, giving up one run on one hit, struck out three and walked three. Tiger hurlers in total combined to strike out 14 and walk 12.
The Tigers are scheduled to open the regular season Monday as they host Webster County.
