Alli Cundiff wanted to choose a college that would allow her to continue her successful soccer and track and field career from high school. On Friday, she signed to continue both careers at Rhodes College.

Cundiff was an All-Region soccer player at UHA and was named All-State honorable mention after scoring 20 goals and assisting on nine others in addition to being one of the team’s top spot up defenders. She scored 33 goals and handed out 19 assists as a junior and finished with 65 goals and 34 assists over her final three years in high school.

On the track as a junior, Cundiff finished third in the 300-meter hurdles and fourth in the 100-meter hurdles at the Class 1A State Meet. She was also part of the 800-meter relay team that also finished fourth at the state meet.

Rhodes, who competes at the NCAA Division III level, is a liberal arts college in Memphis with an enrollment of 2,000. Among the alumni are Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes and actress Dixie Carter.

Cundiff said Rhodes allowing her to play both soccer and track helped make her college decision easier. She said she hasn’t made a firm decision in her area of study but added she is leaning toward in a field in math or chemistry.
