The University of Kentucky has announced that it will conduct its own investigation and cooperate with authorities in connection to a report from Yahoo Sports that have UK players, past and present, along with players from other major institutions, involved in possible NCAA violations as it pertains to relationship with an agent. According to a report from the Lexington Herald Leader, UK President Eli Capilouto announced the review, with a similar statement issued Friday morning by UK Athletics Director Mitch Barnhart. Both say the school has not been contacted by the FBI, but that the school on its own has contacted the SEC and the NCAA.

The report from the Herald Leaders goes on to state that court documents and bank records obtained during an investigation into college basketball contaied the names of former players Bam Adebayo and Nerlens Noel, along with current UK player Kevin Knox. The original story was published by Yahoo Sports.

This is the first report of Kentucky being tied to a federal investigation that began back in September, and implicated a number of programs, including Louisville. The Herald Leader states that documents list the expenditures of a former NBA agent and his agency. The documents include items such as expense reports and balance sheets that contain possible benefits for athletes that would fall in violation of NCAA rules.
