Christian County High School has announced the resignation of boys’ soccer coach Arne Seeger after four seasons.

“CCHS principal Chris Bentzel thanks Mr. Seeger for his leadership over the past four seasons and wishes him the very best moving forward,” said Communications and Community Education Director Heather Lancaster in an email Wednesday.

Seeger was 30-51-7 in four seasons as Colonel Coach. His 2014 team went 12-8-3 and won the Eighth District title.  The Colonels, however, have not reached the region tournament since 2014.

He said he will continue to teach special education at Christian County High, but didn’t offer any other details.

“I hope the future of program works out, and I will work to make the transition to a new coach a smooth one,” Seeger said.

Seeger has coached soccer for 15 years, the last eight at Christian County. He was an assistant coach for four seasons prior to succeeding Clint Willis in 2014.

This past season, the Colonels were 5-14-3 and lost to Hopkinsville 10-0 in the first round of the district tournament.

Seeger said his free time will allow him to spend more time with his family.

Lancaster said the job will be posted in the near future with no timetable set for a hire.
