The Todd County Central girls’ basketball team beat hosts Clinton County 55-48 on Saturday, booking its spot in the 4th Region All “A” championship game on Sunday at 1:30. The Monroe County Lady Falcons (9-9), 61-32 semifinal winners over Russellville, stand between the Lady Rebels and the title.  With their third straight win, the Lady Rebels improve to 6-9, while Clinton County slips to 5-15.

Both teams started slow with the Lady Rebels holding the Lady Bulldogs to 3 first-quarter points, but only putting 8 on the board themselves.  Todd County continued to hold Clinton County in check in the second quarter, limiting them to single-digits and outscoring them 10-5 to take a 18-8 halftime lead.

Senior guard Alexis O’Daniel led the Lady Rebels with 7 first-half points, followed by senior guard Tatyana Peterson’s 6.  Junior forward Alexis Roberts and freshman forward Abbi Young’s 3 points each were enough to lead the Lady Bulldogs.

Both teams came out of the break ready to put points on the board, with Todd County narrowly tipping the Lady Bulldogs 20-18 in the quarter.  Junior guard Amy Brumfield paced the Lady Rebels with 8 points in the frame, and they took a 38-26 lead into the final quarter.

The scoring continued in the fourth quarter, with the Lady Bulldogs outscoring Todd County 22-17 over the last eight minutes.  However, the Lady Rebels held on for a 55-48 win, punching their ticket to the 4th Region All “A” final against Monroe County on Sunday.  With the game in the balance, O’Daniel tossed in 7 fourth-quarter points for the Lady Rebels, sealing the win.

O’Daniel’s 18, including 11 in the second half, led the Lady Rebels, followed by senior guard Tatyana Peterson’s 14.  Junior guard Amy Brumfield was the other Lady Rebel in double-figures with 11, with senior center Michaela Robertson with 7.  Junior guard Jasmine Mimms chipped in 3, and freshman center Makayla Artis added a bucket.  Roberts led the Lady Bulldogs with 15, followed by junior forward Rylee Stockton’s 10.

Todd County has a quick turnaround, as they will go looking for a All “A” regional championship when they face the Monroe County Lady Falcons (9-9) in the final on Sunday.
