
The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers won for the 6th time in their last seven games Friday night, as they cruised by Fort Campbell 78-13. The Lady Tigers broke out on top early and never looked back on the way to an 8th District win.
Hopkinsville’s defense limited Fort Campbell to a single free throw in the first quarter, as the Lady Tigers jumped out to a 25-1 lead. Hopkinsville kept on rolling in the second quarter, pushing the lead out to 49-6 at the half. Jayla Rose had a huge first half for Hopkinsville, scoring all 20 of her points in the first half of play.
The Lady Tigers’ starters played very sparingly in the second half. Still the reserves were able to extend the lead as they got significant playing time in the 3rd and 4th quarters. Hopkinsville pushed the lead to 64-10 after the third quarter, before settling in for the 65 point victory.
Hopkinsville was led by Jayla Rose with her 20 points. Breon Oldham was the only other Lady Tiger to reach double figures with 13 points. Twelve different Lady Tigers got in the scoring column in the ballgame. Fort Campbell was paced by Brianna Dugger with 7 points and Jordan Wilson with 4.
Hopkinsville ups their mark on the season to 14-4, while the Lady Falcons fall to 0-10.
