Caldwell County had two wrestlers finish in first place that helped the Tigers take seventh place at the Toyota of Hopkinsville Christian County Invitational Saturday at Lyle Dunbar Gymnasium.
Dylan Walls defeated Gage Fowler 9-8 to claim first place in the 106-pound class, while Dylan Gray remained unbeaten on the year with a pin of Christian County’s Diion Leavell in the 182-pound class.
Other scorers for Caldwell County were Seth Slayton, who was fifth in the 160-pound class; Tristian Tinsley, who finished sixth in the 145-pound class; and James Jones, who took seventh place in the 113-pound class.
Caldwell County’s 97 points placed them seventh, just eight points out of fifth place. Woodford County won the event with 248 points, while Christian County was second (233), and Cape Central, MO (119) was third.
