After trailing by double digits in the first half, the UHA Blazers rallied for a 14 point win Thursday over the Seneca Redhawks in their first game of the Paducah Tilghman Christmas Tournament. The Blazers trailed in the 2nd quarter 30-15, but then came back to get the 95-81 win.

The game was all Seneca early, as the Redhawks jumped out to a 10-2 lead. They would extended the lead to 15 at 26-11, as the Blazers had problems getting shots to fall, and the Redhawks were able to crash the boards and get second chance points. The Blazers scored the last four points of the period to cut the lead to 26-15 after one.

Seneca pushed the lead back out to 15 at 30-15, but it was at that point the Blazers found their mojo. UHA scored the next 11 points to cut the lead to 30-26. The Blazers then outscored Seneca the rest of the half 16-9 to take a 42-39 lead at the break.

Once the Blazers got to the break, they would not trail for the rest of the contest. The Redhawks cut the lead to 1 at 42-41. UHA went on a 16 to 8 spurt to gain control at 58-49. The Blazers led 67-59 after the third quarter.

Seneca tried once more to rally, cutting the lead to 79-75, but foul problems and weary legs began to take a toll. UHA closed the game on a 16-6 spurt to seal the win.

KyKy Tandy led a solid team effort for the Blazers with 34 points. Kwun Dorsey added 22, while K.J. Crump chipped in with 15, and Taquan Hollowell added 14.

Carl Parkers led Seneca with 24 before fouling out of the contest.

With the win, the Blazers improved to 5-1 on the season.
