It was a tough start to the 2017-2018 season Monday night for the UHA Lady Blazers. UHA had trouble getting the offense going as they fell on the road to Paducah Tilghman 66-26.
UHA battled throughout the first half, with the Lady Tornado leading by 10 points at the break, 29-19. Tilghman then exploded offensively and clamped down defensively in the second half, limiting the Lady Blazers to only 7 second half points, to pull away for the big win.
Anshanique Leavell led UHA with 10 points on the night, while Lily Hendricks added 4. Paducah Tilghman was led by Brantarious Milliken with 19-points, 18 of those coming in the second half. Azarrea Thomas and Brijae Constantine added 10 points apiece.
The Lady Blazers fall to 0-1 to open the season and get ready to host Fort Campbell Saturday evening at 6:00 as part of a girls/boys doubleheader. Paducah Tilghman opens 1-0 and will go on the road Thursday evening to take on Carlisle County.
