It was an emotional scene following the Caldwell County Tigers 52-6 loss to Elizabethtown Friday night in the Class 3A regional final. With the loss of their expected starting quarterback and some other key position players after the end of the 2016 season, many thought the Tigers would have a tough time duplicating their success of the past two seasons. However, the Tigers ended the season in the regional final for the 3rd year in a row, and finished 10-3.
After the contest, head coach David Barnes got a bit emotional when he talked about what this group of players, especially the seniors, had been able to accomplish.
