In what could be a preview of a match in the 2nd Region tournament, the Caldwell County Lady Tigers beat University Heights Tuesday night. In a match that was tightly contested, the Lady Tigers edged out the Lady Blazers in five sets.
The night began like Caldwell County was going to make quick work of UHA, with the Lady Tigers taking the first two sets by scores of 25-8 and 25-22. The Lady Blazers fought back to take the third and fourth sets by scores of 25-21 and 26-24.
The match then moved to the deciding 5th set, which Caldwell County was able to win, edging out the Lady Blazers 15-11.
The Lady Tigers improve to 17-8, while UHA falls to 9-12. Caldwell County returns to action Thursday night at Trigg County. The Lady Blazers will host Hopkinsville Thursday in a key 8th District battle.
