Here are the YourSportsEdge.com 2nd Region boys’s soccer rankings.

1. Hopkinsville Tigers (7-1)

Hopkinsville holds on to the top spot after going 3-1 last week, including a 10-0 win over 8th District rival, 8th ranked Christian County (2-6-3).  The Tigers did suffer their first loss over the weekend, a 3-0 setback to Warren Central (10-0), but a loss to the Dragons, who have scored 29 goals and only allowed 1, won’t be held against Hoptown.  Tantalizing matches at Marshall County (6-2) and at home against Daviess County (7-3) are on the slate for the Tigers this week.  The Daviess County game is a rematch of last season’s 2-1 State Tournament round of 16 loss.

2.  Henderson County Colonels (7-1-1)

Henderson picked up a 5-1 road win over 4th ranked Webster County (7-3-1) last week, and remain at number 2.  The Colonels have four matches coming up this week, including 2nd Region matches against 3rd ranked Madisonville-North Hopkins (4-2-1) and 8th ranked Christian County (2-6-3).  Henderson closes out the week hosting the Colonel Classic where they’ll face off with undefeated Warren Central and 5-5 South Oldham.

3.  Madisonville-North Hopkins Maroons (4-2-1)

The Maroons played one match last week, a 3-3 tie with 3-4-1 Owensboro High School.  Madisonville have a big match on tap at 2nd ranked Henderson County (7-1-1) on Tuesday.  They will also host 5-3 Ohio County on Thursday.

4.  Webster County Trojans (7-3-1)

The Trojans had a busy week playing 5 matches and posting a 2-2-1 record.  Webster began the week with a 5-1 home loss to 2nd ranked Henderson County (7-1-1) and followed that with a 3-3 home draw with 7th ranked University Heights (2-2-1).  The Trojans went 2-1 at the Muhlenberg County Classic, beating 9th ranked Trigg County 2-1 on Friday and splitting a pair on Saturday, losing 3-2 to Bullitt East (8-4) and beating hosts Muhlenberg County 5-0.  The Trojans face a pair of 2nd Region opponents this week, travelling to 11th ranked Hopkins County Central (3-4-1) and hosting the winless, 12th ranked Union County Braves.

5.  Lyon County Lyons (5-3)

The Lyons move up a spot from last week, after two blow out wins against Muhlenberg County (1-7)  and Ballard Memorial (0-8).  The Lyons travel to Mayfield on Tuesday to face the 2-4-1 Cardinals and then host 10th ranked Caldwell County (3-3-1) in a match-up that is always hotly contested.

6.  Fort Campbell Falcons (1-4)

The Falcons still haven’t won since an opening night 2-1 win over 9th ranked Trigg County, but move up a spot on the strength of a strong showing on post against Marshall County (6-2).  Fort Campbell lost that match 5-3, but will still draw momentum from the performance heading into a trip to Greenville to take on the Mustangs of Muhlenberg County (1-7).

7.  University Heights Academy Blazers (2-2-1)

The Blazers move up two spots this week after a win and a draw last week.  UHA went on the road and picked up a 3-3 draw with the 4th ranked Webster County Trojans (7-3-1) before getting their second shutout of the season in a 3-0 win at Owensboro Catholic (2-6-2).  The Blazers start the week with a trip to Paducah Tilghman (3-5-2) and host winless Ballard Memorial on Thursday.

8.  Christian County Colonels (2-6-3)

The Colonels make a two spot jump in the rankings, despite only going 1-4 last week.  The win came at home, 2-0 over the 9th ranked Trigg County Wildcats (4-6), before the Colonels were blanked by top ranked Hopkinsville 10-0 last Thursday.  Christian County then went 0-3 in the Boots and Butts Soccer Classic over the weekend.  The Colonels have a tough week coming up, but will have opportunities to continue to climb the regional rankings when they travel to 10th ranked Caldwell County (3-3-1) and then host 2nd ranked Henderson County (7-1-1) on Thursday.

9.  Trigg County Wildcats (4-6)

The Wildcats took the biggest tumble in the rankings this week, dropping from 5th to 9th after only managing one win in four matches last week.  A 2-0 loss at 8th ranked Christian County (2-6-3) started the slide, which continued with a pair of one goal losses at the Muhlenberg County Classic over the weekend.  On Friday, the Wildcats lost 2-1 to 4th ranked Webster County, with the Trojans getting the winner in the last 30 seconds of the match.  Trigg picked up its only win of the week with a unconvincing 2-1 result against hosts Muhlenberg County (1-7), before dropping their last match of the tournament 3-2 to tournament champions, Bullitt East High School (8-4).  The Wildcats will only be in action once this week, playing a boy/girl varsity doubleheader at home against Mayfield (2-4-1) on Thursday.

10.  Caldwell County Tigers (3-3-1)

Caldwell drops two spots this week, although it had more to do with what other 2nd Region teams did than Caldwell’s performance.  The Tigers did lose 8-0 at home to the 6-1 Calloway County Lakers, but Calloway is strong enough that the Tigers weren’t really punished for that loss.  Caldwell has two opportunities this week to make up ground, hosting 8th ranked Christian County (2-6-3) on Tuesday before a trip to Eddyville to match up with the 5th ranked Lyon County Lyons (5-3).

11.  Hopkins County Central Storm (3-4-1)

The Storm hold steady at 11 this week after a 2-2 draw with Owensboro Catholic (2-5-2) and a 2-0 home win over 12th ranked Union County (0-7).  This week the Storm travel to Elkton to face the 1-5 Todd County Central Rebels, before a regional test at home against 4th ranked Webster County (7-3-1) on Tuesday.

12.  Union County Braves (0-7)

Union County find themselves in the cellar again, after a week in which they lost 9-1 at home to Apollo (5-5) and 2-0 on the road at 11th ranked Hopkins County Central (3-4-1).  The Braves will be on the hunt for their first win this season when they travel to Dixon to take on the 4th ranked Webster County Trojans (7-3-1) on Thursday.
