Hopkinsville’s Meghan Easton captured another top ten finish Saturday bringing home a sixth place finish at the Calloway County Invitational in Murray. Easton was the top senior runner in the event, covering the 3.1-mile course in a time of 22:45.
Cherish Higgs finished in 14th place with a time of 23:38, followed by eighth grader Allison Wood (17th), LaTajah Summers-Young (67th), Anna Lee (70th), and Emma Lile (73rd). Graves County’s Carley Dowdy won the race in a time of 21:35.
As a team, Hopkinsville finished fifth with 116 points, 13 points behind fourth place Calloway County and 22 points ahead of sixth place Webster County.
Meanwhile, freshman Chase Atkins finished fifth in the boys’ varsity race in a time of 18:37 over the 3.1-mile course. Zlatko Skuljan finished 23rd followed by Max Dubois (58th), Jamarius McKnight (73rd), Maxwell Bauserman (88th), Tyler Turner (94th), and Austen Turner (113th).
Graves County’s Garrett Wilson won the race in a time of 17:32.
As a team, Hopkinsville finished in ninth place, two points ahead of tenth place Dawson Springs.
