The Christian County boys’ soccer team (0-1-2) went on the road Saturday to Paducah Tilghman (1-2-2) and recorded its second 1-1 draw of the young season. The Colonels, 12th in YourSportsEdge.com’s 2nd Region rankings, tied Owensboro Catholic (1-2) by the same score last time out.
Junior midfielder Luke Ferrell put the Colonels ahead in the 26th minute off an assist from Yeffrey Macario, but Tilghman would strike back with a goal in the 40th minute to tie the game heading into halftime.
The rest of the match would prove to be a stalemate, giving the Colonels their second draw in as many games. Christian County Coach Arne Seeger was pleased with his team’s ball movement, but is still awaiting someone to emerge as the Colonels go-to goal scorer. Seeger praised the team’s defensive effort, singling out juniors Zach Holmes and Tanner Daughtry for their performances.
The Colonels go on the road to Paducah to face the St. Mary Vikings (2-4) August 28th.
