The Caldwell County Lady Tigers picked up a big 2nd Region volleyball win Thursday night, outlasting the Madisonville Lady Maroons in five sets. Caldwell County won the first set 25-15, but then saw Madisonville take the next two sets 22-25 and 20-25. Caldwell County then rallied for the 4th set 25-19. As the rest of the night had been, the fifth set was a battle, with Caldwell County finally taking the deciding set 15-12.
Caldwell County coach Daniel Cortner says Madisonville’s style of play caused his team some problems early. He also had praise for senior Carlie Peek for her play in the 4th and 5th sets.
With the win, Caldwell County now goes to 3-0 on the season, while Madisonville falls to 4-2.
