First year Christian County girls’ soccer coach Shannon East is constantly telling her players to fight through adversity and not give up. The Lady Colonels did just that Tuesday night as they beat Logan County 1-0 and gave East her first coaching win.
MacKenzie Almy scored off an assist from freshman Maddyson McCain midway through the first half for what proved to be the game’s only goal.
The second half saw Logan County continually find room in the middle of the field but miss on several scoring chances. Lady Colonel goalie Payton Hale was also up to the task, recording eight saves in the second half alone to notch the team’s first shut out in two seasons.
Christian County (1-1) returns to action Thursday at Todd County Central. The Lady Rebels saw their Tuesday game with Franklin-Simpson rained out.
