Heritage Christian Academy rallied for a four-set win in their volleyball home opener Tuesday against Community Christian Academy. The Crusaders took the first set 25-17, but HCA rallied behind the blocking and kills of Allie Schluckenbier and Anna Waldron to win the final three sets 26-24, 25-16, and 25-22.

Head Coach Eldridge Rogers also complimented the defensive play of libero Alyvia Stokes and defensive specialist Meredith Crunk, and added that hitters Rachel West and Skylar Crisp benefitted from the setting of Allie Maternowski.

“I was pleased with our composure. We just kept battling,” Rogers said. “They (CCA) were a very good team with strong fundamentals. Our stamina and conditioning showed up in the latter matches.”

HCA (6-2) will play in a tournament at Lancaster in Smyrna this weekend before returning home Tuesday to host Highland Latin.
