Lyon County senior Cullan Brown finished tied for 21st at the 42nd Junior PGA Tournament Thursday at the Country Club at St. Albans near St. Louis. Brown shot an even-par 72 in the final round for a four-day total of 4-under. Only one of his four rounds was over par, with the opening round 69 his best of the event. A quadruple-bogey seven on the par-three 15th hole Thursday proved to be his undoing and kept him from a likely top ten finish.
For the four days, Brown had 14 birdies and finished tied for third in fairways hit (22 of 28) and greens in regulation (30 of 36).
Akshay Bhatia of Wake Forest, NC set a tournament record with a score of 22-under par, winning the event by three shots.
