Hoppers Rolling In Early Season

The Hoptown Hoppers continued their fast start to the 2017 Ohio Valley League season with a 16-8 road win at Fulton Sunday. Ryan Hatten (VMI) had three hits, including a home run, and drove in four runs, while Reese Alexiades (Pepperdine) went 3-for-5 with three RBIs as the Hoppers scored 10 or more runs in their first four games for the first time in franchise history.

Zach Duvall (Alabama-Huntsville) added three hits for the Hoppers (4-0), who have scored 52 runs on 56 hits in their first four games compared to 60 runs and 54 hits in their first four games of the 2016 season. Former Heritage Christian Academy All-State standout Alex Walker picked up the pitching win, allowing four hits and four earned runs in six innings while striking out three.
