
The Christian County Lady Colonels rebounded from a tough district loss to Hopkinsville by picking up an 8th District win Thursday night against Fort Campbell. The Lady Colonels locked up the #2 seed in the 8th District tournament by getting past the Lady Falcons in four sets.
In the opening set, Christian County saw the Lady Falcons jump out to a 4-1 lead. The Lady Colonels quickly rebounded and scored 11 of the next sixteen points to take a 12-9 lead. Christian County would then push the margin on out and take the first set 25-17.
The Lady Falcons, who have been improving over the course of the season, exhibited that improvement in the second set. Using an 8 point run early in the set, Fort Campbell went on to take the set 25-16 to even the match at one set apiece.
Christian County came right back in the 3rd set. Getting out to a 7-1 lead, the Lady Colonels then cruised through the rest of the set to pick up the 25-15 win and pull ahead in the match two sets to one.
The Lady Colonels finally seized control of the match in the 4th set. Christian County went on a 10-1 run to open up a close game and close out the match by winning the 4th set 25-14.
Christian County moves to 10-15 with the win, and 4-2 in the district. Fort Campbell drops to 4-17 overall and 0-6 in the district.
With the results of the match, the seedings for the 8th District tournament are set. UHA (5-1) will be the #1 seed and will take on Fort Campbell (0-6). Christian County (4-2) will be the #2 seed and will take on Hopkinsville (3-3).
