Keith Tandy, who was among the surprise cuts by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before the NFL season began, has signed with the Atlanta Falcons.
The former Christian County Colonel returns to the NFC South after spending six seasons with the Buccaneers, who drafted him in the sixth round of the 2012 NFL Draft out of West Virginia.
Following the season-ending injury to Keanu Neal in the season-opening loss to Philadelphia, Tandy will provide the Falcons with another veteran option at strong safety.
In his six-year career, Tandy has played in 84 games with 15 starts, registering 156 tackles, 14 pass defenses, eight interceptions, two fumble recoveries, one forced fumble and one sack.
Atlanta hosts Carolina this week and will host Tandy’s former team Tampa Bay Oct. 14.
