Heritage Christian Academy dropped a pair of matches Saturday, but Coach Eldridge Rogers was left upbeat after watching his team battle in both.
HCA lost to defending KCAA state champion Trinity Christian 25-17, 25-23. Allie Schluckebier, Meredith Crunk, and Skyler Crisp combined for 14 kills.
The Lady Warriors lost a five-set match to Christian Community School of White House, Tenn. 20-25, 25-23, 25-23, 20-25, 15-4. Christian Community is one of the top teams in the Middle Tennessee Athletic Conference for Christian schools.
Crunk had 13 aces and 21 digs for Heritage Christian and Crisp had eight kills.
“If you can be optimistic with losses, I was this weekend,” Rogers said. “ I see improvement in our style of play, offensively and defensively. We will be a very good team as the season progresses.”
Heritage Christian (16-9, 1-3) will host Clarksville Northwest Tuesday.
