Henderson County is the highest ranked boys’ soccer team in the Second Region, according to the Maher Computer Rankings released Monday.
The Colonels (4-0-1) are ranked eighth in the state. Hopkinsville (3-1), who suffered their first loss of the season Saturday to No. 6 Daviess County by a 4-2 score, is ranked 21st.
Other team rankings are Madisonville (No. 63), University Heights (No. 101), Webster County (No. 104), and Trigg County (No. 136).
The computer rankings also listed Christian County’s Aug. 20 win at Franklin-Simpson as the third biggest upset of the young soccer season.
There are no official statewide soccer polls with the Maher Rankings one of the few that ranks soccer teams in Kentucky, which is one of a few states that does not classify the sport by size.
