Kara Southwood’s goal three minutes into the game was all Trigg County needed in a 1-0 girls’ soccer scrimmage win over Christian County Tuesday. Southwood took a crossing pass from Madisen Ireland and found the back of the net.
Trigg County’s defense, which struggled in the first two games of the Bluegrass State Games, has allowed just one goal in their last two preseason contests.
Christian County’s defense has also looked good, giving up just one goal Monday against Muhlenberg County.
Trigg County will scrimmage UHA Thursday. The Lady Wildcats will open their season Monday at Hopkinsville, while Christian County plays at Madisonville Aug. 16.
